In partnership with Third Rail Rep's production of Sonia Sanchez's work and in order to further amplify the work of Sanchez, iconic writer of the Black Arts Movement, AGE invited members of the Portland community to read from her incredible canon of work. This initiative was called The Sonia Sanchez Poetry Project. We were humbled by the talent of the participants, who ranged in age and occupation. We were proud to have not only members of the performing arts community, but Portland area professors, community leaders, and activists share their time and energy with us.
